Facility setup
💡Follow these tips to maintain 100% tracking and optimal utilization of space.
- Stick a circle dot label (as shown below) onto your headset and their respective controllers to prevent the different parts from getting mixed up. Use the same combination to pair every device group with the designated training area to save time on recreating guardians/stationary boundaries. Tip: Use a combination of more than one sticker if you deploy a large number of devices in a single facility.
- Add a few tower displays to the perimeter of the training spaces to significantly improve tracking. Note: there’s no need to construct full walls around the spaces; the tracking will tolerate crowds of people around the perimeter watching the players.
- Add high contrast decals to the ground to outline the training area and help with tracking. If acquiring decals is not an option, use black tape to mark out a 2m x 2m square for every trainee. Add a 'cross' or an 'X' on the inside of every square to add more contrast and improve tracking.
- Make sure to leave at least 1m space between every training square to allow easy access to the training supervisor and other trainees.
- Switch headsets off and charge them when they’re not used. Note: the battery will drain if the headset is left in sleep mode so always ensure that they’re completely switched off in between sessions.
- Make sure that there is no direct light that can blind the headset.
- Set up a marker on the floor where you want the user to stand for them to play with their back to the crowd passing by (a crowd can interfere with tracking).
- You can use an IR illuminator in darker rooms to improve tracking.
